Start with the item, not a promise
Browse real, moderated listings and compare the seller’s photographs, condition description, price and area. New and pre-owned goods share the catalogue, but the condition of an individual item matters more than its department. Ask the seller through the item’s message button if something is unclear. Keep the conversation on the platform so the description and answers remain associated with the transaction.
Understand the full price
The seller enters the amount they want for the item. Sold To Me adds 20% above that amount: a seller amount of R1,000 becomes a buyer item price of R1,200. The catalogue shows the buyer item price; delivery is separate. Offers and auction bids are buyer-inclusive item amounts, not amounts to which another 20% is later added. Check the final delivery quote before committing to a purchase.
List first; complete verification before purchase
A verified email and an active account are needed to submit a listing. Provide clear original photographs, a truthful description and your area, then submit for moderation. You can submit your listing before completing identity and address checks. Those checks are needed before someone can buy your item. An approved listing does not automatically mean a verified account.
Collection, inspection and delivery
A supported address quote determines the delivery charge. The order records separate payment, collection, inspection and delivery states. Collection and delivery handovers use separate PINs; do not give a PIN before the relevant handover. An inspection result is recorded before outbound delivery. A passed inspection records a condition grade; it is not a manufacturer warranty or a promise that an item will never develop a fault.
Availability and support
Managed fulfilment currently covers Gauteng. Browsing from elsewhere in South Africa does not mean nationwide delivery is available. Payment choices appear only when a live merchant provider is configured. A reserved order is not proof of settled payment; fulfilment cannot proceed without confirmed payment. If an item is materially different, use the order’s dispute or return tools and retain photographs and the original description. Seller payout follows the recorded order workflow, not a buyer’s screenshot.
